The Hare at Roxwell

Welcome to The Hare at Roxwell

Imaginative traditional food served in relaxed surroundings, a menu bursting with fresh seasonal dishes and a cellar full of cask ales, premium lagers and fine wines and you have the ingredients of the perfect country pub and restaurant.

It’s a winning formula of traditional styles with a few contemporary touches that make The Hare at Roxwell a special place to visit!

We take reservations on all of our tables whatever the size, including Christmas, New Year, Valentines Day, Mothers Day and any other special event throughout the year. We also like to promote our casual dining approach, so our walk in policy still applies – if you haven’t made a reservation, feel free to pop in for a drink and we will be sure to get you seated !

We are open 365 days of the year serving fresh food and drink, 7 days a week, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are open from 11am Monday to Thursday and from 9am Friday to Sunday. Please note, times may change once Covid restrictions are lifted.

The Bar

The perfect country pub needs the perfect selection of real ales – after all, nothing beats a pint of cask ale to wash down a hearty meal!

Choose from our range of premium brands, guest ale, and of course our “Golden Crust” Cask Ale brewed just fo us! Just for that added flavour you will find Golden Crust within our recipies, including our signature Steak and Ale Pie. Alternatively, enjoy our range of chilled lagers and ciders.

If you are just meeting for a morning chat, or a colleague for a business meeting, try a pot of tea for two or our freshly brewed coffee – or alternatively a glass of fresh orange juice from the bar.

As you can see, we have paid as much attention to our alternative drink selection as to our alcoholic range.

The Restaurant

Our restaurant becomes a natural extension to our bar area, with a relaxed country house appeal – fully glazed rear windows offer fantastic views across unspoilt open farmland. Our picturesque stream attracts local wildlife including sightings of Deer, Kingfishers and of course the odd Hare!

Relax in a surrounding of English oak, pastel colours and an eclectic mix of antique furniture of a bygone era enjoying all the old traditional favourites prepared using local produce to its highest standard.

Join us with family and friends to eat out on a Sunday, enjoying our Sunday roasts, carved Roast Beef and our delicious Pork and Crackling prepared by our head chef and his team.

Patio Garden

We think you will agree that, in these busy times, its hard to find a place to meet with friends and family to dine and relax, to enjoy a morning coffee, lunchtime treat or a traditional dinner surrounded by open farmland, wild flowers, and the trickle of a natural stream.

We have created a traditional English garden with dining for 60 covers and full waiter service. Apple, Pear and Olive trees help create our patio garden, with the smell of lavender to perfume the summer air. Country dining at The Hare at Roxwell!

Handmade Cake Servery

The special treat you deserve..!

Welcome to our homemade desert server offering the finest cheesecakes and traditional favourites such as Victoria Sponge and our special Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cheesecake – not to be missed! Enjoy with one of our speciality coffees or alternatively a pot of tea.

Wether it be for a morning chat or early business meeting, come and join us for that special treat from 8am, seven days a week.

We also offer a full take out service on all our handmade cakes, and large morning parties catered for. Please ask for more details.
